An exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced Private Chef to join a warm and welcoming UHNW family estate in Pennsylvania.
This property serves as the primary residence for two Principals who are focused on creating a positive, family-oriented household culture. Having purchased the estate in recent years, they are now building their long-term residential team and are seeking an individual who will become a valued member of the household.
The role would be particularly well suited to a Chef from a yachting background who is looking to transition ashore while continuing to deliver exceptional culinary experiences within a private UHNW environment.
The Household
The Principals place great importance on family, hospitality, and creating a relaxed yet professional home environment. While the day-to-day household is relatively quiet, the estate regularly hosts family visits, gatherings, celebrations, and holiday entertaining.
Their culinary preferences lean towards elevated American cuisine, balancing wholesome and health-conscious meals with comforting family favourites. The family enjoys a relaxed approach to dining, appreciating everything from fresh seasonal dishes to grilled cheese sandwiches, burgers, and French fries prepared to an exceptional standard.
The Principals typically enjoy coffee in the mornings rather than a formal breakfast service. The primary focus of the role will be preparing lunch and dinner, most often for the two Principals, whilst remaining adaptable to changing schedules and occasional entertaining requirements.
Key Responsibilities
- Planning, preparing, and presenting daily lunch and dinner service for the Principals
- Creating balanced menus that combine healthy, nutritious options with elevated comfort food and family favourites
- Sourcing and selecting high-quality seasonal ingredients
- Managing all aspects of kitchen operations, cleanliness, organisation, and food safety
- Catering for family visits, holiday celebrations, and special occasions including Thanksgiving, Christmas, and private dinner parties
- Developing bespoke menus for entertaining and larger gatherings
- Managing kitchen inventories, provisioning, and supplier relationships
- Accommodating dietary preferences and adapting menus as required
- Maintaining exceptional culinary standards while delivering a warm and approachable style of service
- Working closely with the wider household team to ensure seamless operations throughout the estate
- Remaining flexible and adaptable to last-minute schedule changes and guest requests
Candidate Profile
- Previous experience as a Private Chef aboard private or charter yachts, within UHNW households, luxury villas, or high-end hospitality environments
- Strong understanding of elevated American cuisine with the ability to create both healthy and indulgent dishes
- Experience catering for UHNW principals and private family lifestyles
- Confident producing both intimate family meals and larger-scale entertaining menus
- Creative and passionate about menu development while remaining responsive to family preferences
- Highly organised with excellent provisioning, inventory, and kitchen management skills
- Flexible, discreet, and service-oriented with a strong understanding of private household etiquette
- Positive team player who works collaboratively with household staff and family members
- Adaptable and comfortable within a family-focused environment
